Two new Tomutonttu albums!
Here's another track from Kevätjuhla, this one's called KUINKA VOIN AUTTAA.
The other new album is called TRARAT and it is collection of recordings I made this spring while working on a live piece commissioned by Tampere Biennial. It is to be released on cassette and as a digital download by Leaving Records maybe before the summer is gone. Here's what one section of it sounds like:
Metso LIVE documentation
Don't be sad if you couldn't make it to the Metso Library in Tampere yesterday. Thanks to the skilful youth at Tampere Nuorisopalvelut the event was streamed live and documented. I was asked to select some books, music and films from the collections of the library that I would recommend to people. The video starts with librarian Juhani Koivisto interviewing me about my picks. In Finnish. Then there's a little improvisation (starts at 27:50) with a volunteer assistant operating the Tomutonttu Music Box. The sound is a bit rough but that's just how it is sometimes.
I can hear The Magic Spring?! Upcoming Janderzen live appearances.
Tomorrow (30.3.) there is a Tomutonttu interview and a live improvisation at Metson musiikkiosasto. Starts at 16:30. I heard there's gonna be a live video stream of the event.

On Sunday (3.4.) Janderzen will make some sounds at the spring concert of Naiskuoro Tellus, a wild Tampere based women's choir.

Bordelines Festival in Athens invited Janderzen to host a Composer's Portrait Workshop for kids. This takes place on April 10th. The TT Music Box will be on display somewhere at the festival.

Friday April 15th Janderzen will talk about his methods at a seminar organised by The Society of Finnish Composers. LOL.
Also on Friday the 15th there will be Tampere Biennale's Fonal Club part I taking place. Tomutonttu will be performing a set of 100% new music.

The Horizon After Party at Hectoliter gallery in Bruxelles
THE HORIZON AFTER PARTY
Hectoliter, Bruxelles
November 14th – December 12th 2015
"The Horizon After Party" is a selection of recent work by a Tampere based artist Jan Anderzén. He has performed his joyful noise in Belgium numerous times before but "The Horizon After Party" is his first solo exhibition in the region.
He did not bring a suitcase full of low budget electronic instruments to Hectoliter but some quilted textiles and a series of small paintings. The images can be busier than a puppy in a room full of rubber balls but there's always an unrelenting endeavor towards harmony. They are splashes on a grid mirroring the nature of the life around us.
Elissa Määttänen, a long time collaborator and a dear friend, has this to say: "Janderzén's work has the beat of a frantic tide you want to be carried away by. It will overwhelm you, mesmerize you, take you down its labyrinthine ways and rearrange your sense of direction. Time is cyclical, layered, parallel. Everything melts into one and stands out. Faces fuzzy and clear encountered in heat.
Bear Bones, Lay Low will perform at the opening reception on Saturday the 14th. The party starts at 7pm.
On Sunday the 15th at 4:30pm there will be a Collective Composer Portrait Workshop for kids and people like kids.

Tarzana record is out and we're gonna tour!
A long time in the works, here it finally is! The Tarzana LP is a collaborative work I have made with one of my dearest friends mr Spencer Clark.
“Alien Wildlife Estate” is a kulmination of both artists recording Pacific City Studios and finnishing off the compositions in a “YOUR MY FAVORITE ALIEN penpal flare! The music is engaged as a Fruitopian vision of a rescattering of all elements within an International Airport to be presented as Audio exhibit! With songtitles like”DEEP OCEAN IBEX ARENA” and LI SHEN SU’S PEACOCK MANTIS SHRIMP REPERTOIRES” one can glare the “Up-To-The-Minute”synthetic textures as they coalesce with the impressionistic voices and sound effects of the Symbiotic relationship of thee Modern Airport with that of an Earth Alien ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN.
"ALIEN WILDLIFE ESTATE" FULL LENGTH RECORD IS OUT NOW AND AVAILABLE FROM HTTP://UNDERWATERPEOPLES.COM/ IN NYC, INQUIRE WITH CHAZZY HIMSELF THROUGH: CLARKSR99@YAHOO.COM FOR BULK ORDERS.

Home Sweet Home at Pirkanmaan triennaali
A version of Home Sweet Home is part of the 6th Triennial of Pirkanmaa. It's a collaboration I made with the super mind Lars Mattila with some help from Tomas Regan, Tiina Lehikoinen, Tommi Musturi, Jarno Latva-Nikkola. Our piece is located at Studio Emil.
Lars will give a talk about the subject matters (#mold #spacesuits #futurehouse #fastfood) at the auditorium of the Vanha Kirjastotalo on Saturday the 3rd of October at 1pm. It's free. It's in Finnish.

The Wall Mosaic
This chart shows that I've finished assembling all the 252 units that will become a mosaic on a wall at Tarinatori in the Länsimäki suburb of Vantaa. Commissioned by the Vantaa Art Museum the piece will be about 12 meters wide and 2 and 1/2 meters high. We'll start attaching it onto the wall next week with a German artists Jakob Johannsen. Our studio's brisk summer assistant Timo Höyssä was a great help in assembling the piece.

Art vs. Mould
Here's an article (in Finnish) about various Finnish art projects dealing with the mould issues. My work with Lars Mattila gets talked about as well. We'll be doing another instalment of the piece for the Pirkanmaan Triennial next fall.
